It has been quite some time since my last post and A LOT has changed!  After my graduation in June, I had the choice between going on with my studies at ABDN or to start working. After a very thorough and difficult decision process I decided to choose the second option!

parisThus, since October, I’ve been working for Eurocopter. And I am quite enjoying it. I spent my first five months in Paris and I’ve just moved to Madrid for another five months. Eurocopter is a division of EADS and produces amazing products like this, this and this!

The time in Paris has been great. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot. Especially my French has improved significantly during this time.

Madrid is also an amazing city; Beforehand, I always thought that Barcelona is much better than Madrid (without ever having been to Madrid!). But I have to say that this is not true. Madrid is a pretty cool city and has a lot to offer. The Spanish nightlife, the Prado, Thyssen, the Palacio Real, etc., etc. …

That’s pretty funny, just watched some videos on youtube and found my brother crashing into another bike:

(nothing serious happened…)

What an amazing car!!!

I just installed PicLens, it’s a really cool tool for viewing photos online!

As an example, here are some screen shots of Flori’s brilliant Hamburg photo-set.

This has been quite a busy week for me! I’ve been to London twice (Wednesday and Friday) and attended the University Sportsball on Thursday night

The first trip to London was because I had a job-interview with Moloney Search. They are a headhunting company and are specialized in headhunting graduates. In my case, the job-interview was actually for tesco.com, the online e-commerce devision of tesco. Tesco.com serves over 200,000 customers a week. The idea behind it is actually quite cool, you can order your groceries online and they will be delivered directly to your home. Here’s a link to the description of the graduate programme.

While waiting for my flight back to Aberdeen, I got a call back from Moloney Search that they were pretty happy with my interview and that the next stage would be an assessment day at tesco.com, which followed on Friday.

The assessment day was quite demanding, we had to do two tests (a business decision- and an abstract reasoning test) and an interview with a tesco.com manager. The atmosphere at tesco.com was pretty relaxed and it was really interesting to see how those assessment days work and what to expect from them in the future.

Next week I will get feedback on how I’ve done at the assessment day! But now, I have got to start working on my dissertation again!!!!

I just installed Xobni. (thanks for the link Liam!) It’s quite a cool application that makes outlook a lot more useful. Have a look at the video:

Hey guys, here’s a picture of this years Aberdeen University Basketball-team. We actually won against Edinburgh University last week. This has been the first time that we won against them since I’ve been here in Aberdeen! So it was a really great success!!!
After a slow start and a few losses, we are now getting better and better! This Wednesday we’ll be playing against Strathclyde. Hopefully that will be another win for us!
Check out Robb’s pictures to see the Abdn-Ballers in action! :)

Hey guys, it has been a while since my last comment but here’s finally something new to talk about. Last weekend, my brother Julian and I went to Shetland! There is a direct ferry from Aberdeen to Lerwick (northernmost town in the UK, about 7,000 inhabitants!). It takes about 12 hours and costs only £26. Shetland is just amazing, the nature is marvelous and the people were really friendly! Have a look at our flickr-photos!
